Campaign Spirit Award
United Way Spirit Awards
A big thank-you to all who support us throughout the year
These awards recognize businesses and organizations that provide support to the United Way all year long and especially during our annual fundraising campaign. Each award has specific criteria that must be met before being considered for the award. The Spirit Award Advisory Committee, made up of community volunteers, the United Way board and the Campaign Cabinet select the recipients to be recognized for the United Way of Sault Ste. Marie & district’s highest accolade in the following categories:
Best First Time Campaign
Outstanding Employee Campaign
Outstanding Corporate Campaign
Best Managed Joint Union/Management Campaign
Outstanding Agency Campaign
Leadership Giving Campaign
Chair’s Award of Merit
Youth Spirit Award
Outstanding Volunteer Contribution
The nominees may apply for as many awards as applicable. Nominees and nominators are encouraged to work with United Way staff to decide which award(s) are most appropriate for application. The Spirit Award Advisory Committee retains the option, with permission of the nominee, to suggest a category deemed more appropriate than that submitted.
Only those submissions that are typed and complete will be considered. Completed applications may be returned via email to email@example.com. In addition, the submissions must contain a sample or brief description of activities that relate to the award for which is being applied. The materials submitted must be no larger than 8.5″ X 11″. The submission should be no longer than three pages. The committee reserves the right to display, distribute and duplicate entries. The Judges’ decisions are final. Application forms attached must be completed and submitted with entry. A camera-ready logo must also either accompany the application or be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
United Way recognizes that campaigns should do more than raise money. They should promote fun, celebration and participation in the community. United Way of Sault Ste. Marie & district’s Spirit Awards Program celebrates the extraordinary talent, creativity and dedication shown by the many individuals within the organizations/companies throughout our community.
Businesses and organizations can be nominated for awards by the Employee Campaign Coordinator, Division Chair or Campaign Cabinet. In order to be considered, your complete application must be submitted to United Way by December 1, 2013. Once submitted, entries become property of United Way of Sault Ste. Marie & district and may be displayed, duplicated or distributed.
All winners will be recognized at the Achievement Awards held annually following the campaign.
